Cass and Nat by Cagey Magee is set in the year 2037. Ten-year-old twin brothers Lep and Mac are adopted by President Glenn Watson when Glen marries their mother, Juniper. Glenn has three of his own children – Todd, Cass, and Pip. The twin’s Uncle Mike Watson is Executive Director and Co-Principal of WatTechPrep, one of the world’s grandest, most secure schools. Nat Stag is the tech-wizard of WatTechGlobal. Nat’s best friend and protégé, Mac Beverly Snr, plotted against Glen and created the OmegaTroops, recruiting emancipated street teens, considered disposable. Mac Snr is thought to be the twins' biological, abusive father and they fear he may not have died as reported. The presidential family members are introduced to twins Trish and Lem Bok, distant cousins of Cass. The twins attended The International Academy for Excellent Youth where Mac Beverly designed the program and computer systems, about which the twins have confidential and potentially fatal information.

Cass and Nat is a suspenseful story filled with surprises. Author Cagey Magee has included many twists and turns, keeping the reader guessing as to who is responsible for an attack on the president and his family, as well as the mistreatment of children. The interesting array of characters, including all the children, are easy to relate to as are the many scenes and locations around the White House and Nat’s Victorian-style home. This smooth-flowing novel with a web of intrigue is highly recommended to all adults, young and old, who enjoy a thrilling adventure story. An ideal gift.
