Chicken Monkey to the Rescue, written by Nick Paldino and illustrated by Michael and Nick Paldino, is the story of a crime-fighting monkey who sneaks out of the zoo after closing time to solve crimes in his chicken outfit. Farmer Willie has woken up to find that his chickens had no eggs, his cows had no milk and his silo was all but emptied of the wheat he had harvested. Not knowing what else to do, Farmer Willie calls Chicken Monkey to help him find out who had robbed his farm. Wanting some extra help, Chicken Monkey asks his sleepy friend Kevin the Zebra to sneak out and help him solve Farmer Willie’s burglary problem and possibly retrieve the stolen goods. Will the crime-fighting duo be able to solve the crime before any more of Farmer Willie’s eggs, milk and wheat go missing?
I loved the story of Chicken Monkey to the Rescue by Nick Paldino! The plot is well laid out and easy for children to follow and understand. The characters are funny, intelligent and interesting with personalities that mold easily into the story. The illustrations by Michael and Nick Paldino are bright, colorful, imaginative and help tell the story through the pictures as well as the words. I recommend Chicken Monkey to the Rescue to anyone with children who love a great story with amusing characters and a lot of fun action. I hope that Nick and Michael Paldino write many more tales filled with the adventures of Chicken Monkey and his sleepy friend Kevin the Zebra.
