City Boy, Country Heart: Contemporary Western Romance is the second book in the Heart of the Boy series by Andrea Downing. Chay Ridgway is a country boy at heart. He loves the clear skies and beautiful fields. Life as a rancher agrees with him and he just loves Wyoming. But he loves KC more and there isn’t anything he will not do for her. If it means going to the Big Apple to be near her as she completes her Master’s degree, he will do it. But living in a big city is very different from living in the country. He doesn’t have anyone but himself there and he feels terribly alone. Working as a busboy at a restaurant is not what he envisioned, but he can do this for love, right? Will he become a city boy for his city girl? Or will he crave the open sky and lands of Wyoming?
I loved this short insight into the lives of Chay and KC after Bad Boy, Big Heart. Chay is such a sweetheart, he is literally the man who will move heaven and earth for KC and will not hesitate in giving all his love. His struggles were painful; I didn’t really like KC’s parents and just wanted to wrap Chay up in a blanket to make him feel safe again. His character growth is incredible; he is not the Chay he used to be. This Chay is responsible, understanding and very determined. I loved his need to be the best man he can be for KC. I loved City Boy, Country Heart by Andrea Downing!
