An accidentally started nuclear war in 2090 left a third of the world in ruins, including the western half of the United States. Three years later, ex-Navy seal and now spy, Kevin Anderson and his team is sent to once again find and destroy the newly rebuilt small nuclear arsenal of the Islamic Republic of France. But, things are not as they seem when his team is betrayed by the very politicians who sent them. After his team, including his new wife, is killed, Kevin sets out to find and punish those responsible. There is one very big problem. They have hired the very best of the best Mercenary to hunt him down and kill him. Several times she almost succeeds but somehow he manages to escape. Sought by the entire Mercenary Guild now hired to kill him, Kevin must eliminate the Senators before another team is sent to their deaths. With limited resources, and little support, this will most likely be a suicidal mission. And, the forces arrayed against him have a final secret of which he isn’t aware. Even if he wins, he loses . . .

"Codename: Winterborn" is pure action and adventure from the first page. No deep drawn-out plot, just action and more action as the protagonist sets out to have revenge on those responsible for his betrayal. The author’s characterization is excellent and the plot, filled with intrigue and double cross, moves briskly along. The author has chosen a futuristic setting that is a perfect complement for the storyline. It is easy to really enjoy this story.
