In Colors in Christmas: Colors in Shapes by Lil Rustle, young readers are invited to celebrate the holiday season while learning about shapes and colors in a cheerfully educational way. The story follows Leila and Finn as they explore triangles, circles, and squares while building a snowman, decorating a tree, and wrapping presents. Each page features a festive scene and labels the hues and figures used, like a green, triangular Christmas tree or round black buttons on a snowman. Through rhythmic rhymes and colorful repetition, Lil Rustle blends early education concepts with the joy and wonder of Christmas.

As an educator, I really enjoyed Colors in Christmas by Lil Rustle because it perfectly balances fun and developing knowledge. The rhyming text flows smoothly, making it easy to read aloud and enjoyable for little listeners. It introduces shapes and colors naturally through play and imagination. The cheerful tone makes understanding feel effortless and exciting. The pacing is steady and engaging, allowing youngsters to absorb each concept without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. This story could spark conversations in early childhood classrooms about colors and shapes. It could also be expanded by creating patterns, a sorting activity, or by having students make their own snowman or Christmas tree. The illustrations, also by Lil Rustle, are bright, lively, and full of seasonal charm. Every single page is bursting with holiday energy, inviting little ones to point, count, and name what they see. Colors in Christmas is an excellent choice for parents and teachers who want to share the magic of Christmas while building foundational skills in a warm, joyful way.
