C.J. Karpinski’s What A Mess, This Princess Dress follows a young girl who’s bursting with anticipation for her best friend’s birthday celebration. The focal point of her day is a pristine, bright red princess dress made of silky fabric with a beautiful sheen. Unfortunately, she can’t wait for the party to begin and starts dancing and gliding around her home early. This hasty choice sparks immediate trouble when a kitchen accident results in a major food stain right down the front of her favorite outfit. Desperate to clean the dress before leaving, she rushes to the washing machine and dumps in far too much laundry soap. Instead of fixing the stain, the aggressive wash cycle makes the colors run and ruins the fabric’s original shimmer. She tries a quick craft cover-up with tape and ribbons, but another energetic twirl causes the ribbons to fall off, leaving behind a sticky residue and a brand-new tear. Can she somehow salvage this fashion disaster before it is time to walk out the door?
