Whew! I think I need a cold shower after finishing reading Conscience, Book Two in the Bellator Saga by Cecilia London. This book is hot, hot, hot, so be forewarned if you aren’t into an extremely steamy read. But for those of us that are, this is the perfect book. Following our lead characters from the first book in the series, Dissident, Caroline and Jack, we find that things are bleak. Caroline is being held captive, hoping that Jack will find her. She’s tortured, emotionally and physically, and the only thing that’s keeping her going is the thoughts of Jack and her children, and the memories they have. That, and her certainty that Jack will stop at nothing to find her. As time goes on and the abuse grows harsher and harsher, Caroline starts to wonder, is Jack really still out there? Is he still alive? And will she make it long enough to find out?
Conscience is a book that is edge of your seat exciting, a first rate thriller, and absolutely as steamy as they come. Author Cecilia London is a genius at writing books that are an absolute roller coaster from start to finish, and I give her huge amounts of credit for that. Conscience will appeal to any reader that loves extremely steamy romance novels, action, suspense and books that feature a whole lot of political intrigue. I could not put this book down once I picked it up, and I would recommend that anyone looking to read the book has enough time to read it from start to finish, because it would be tough to do it any other way. I highly recommend Conscience, and I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series!
