In Crossing Cheyenne by Jaimie Engle and Delia Latham, readers are introduced to Cheyenne Alexander. She is a determined young woman traveling to Wyoming in search of the mother she has never met. Her best friend, Valerie Mendoza, falls ill and cannot accompany her. But not to worry, Cheyenne makes a great pivot and gives Valerie’s seat to her cat companion, Blossom. Meanwhile, Brandon Goddard is reluctantly headed to Wyoming to fulfill his deceased father’s wishes to have his ashes spread. He’s accompanied by his loyal German Shepherd, Lady. Cheyenne's and Brandon’s worlds clash when they must share a cabin that has been double-booked. One humorous misunderstanding after another unfolds. But as they both seek deeply personal journeys, will their unexpected crossing reshape the direction of their lives?

Crossing Cheyenne offers great charm and a good blend of heartfelt emotions and humor. I enjoyed following both Cheyenne’s and Brandon’s personal journeys. I laughed at how their personalities clashed in comical and engaging ways. Cheyenne was optimistic, and I loved her fondness for Winnie the Pooh. Brandon’s resilience was quieter. I also loved how their furry companions seemed to ground them. Jaimie Engle and Delia Latham have a writing style that is very simple and easy to follow. I enjoyed how warm and conversational it was. The pacing was moderate and matched both characters’ journeys. The themes that made this story interesting include fractured family, a sense of belonging, and unexpected love. Readers who enjoyed Samantha Chase’s The Christmas Cottage will enjoy Crossing Cheyenne.

Crossing Cheyenne is a warm, heartfelt story filled with humor, emotion, and unexpected connections. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Cheyenne and Brandon, especially how their personalities clashed in such entertaining and believable ways. Cheyenne’s optimism and quirky love for Winnie the Pooh made her instantly likable, while Brandon’s quieter strength added emotional depth to the story.
The journey they share feels meaningful beyond romance, touching on themes of family, healing, belonging, and personal discovery. I also loved the inclusion of Blossom and Lady, whose presence added charm and comfort throughout the book. The writing style is smooth, conversational, and easy to follow, making the story both relaxing and engaging to read.
Overall, this is a sweet and emotionally satisfying romance with memorable characters and plenty of heart. A great read for anyone who enjoys uplifting stories with humor and genuine emotion.
