Daisy's Extraordinary Ordinary Day by Tracee Guzman is a magical story about a girl named Daisy who loves birds and anything to do with birds. On a seemingly ordinary day, Daisy is busy birdwatching when she hears a sound that she has never heard a bird make before, a trumpeting sound, nonetheless. An ordinary day shows promise to become a special, perhaps extraordinary day. She wanders through the woods in search of the creature that makes this unique and enchanting sound, only to end up on a grand adventure along with new friends, which includes a Painted Bunting bird she had been tracking. Armed with only her binoculars and a keen sense of hearing, she goes in search of the mysterious creature.

Daisy's Extraordinary Ordinary Day introduces young readers to a world of adventure, mystery, and fun. The mystery part creates a subtle yet powerful element of suspense, which youngsters will enjoy wholeheartedly. I felt that I was going on an adventure too, following Daisy's pursuit of the mysterious trumpeting sound. This is good writing, and I think that young readers will experience it in this way as well. The illustrations are very playful, which blends perfectly with the book's fun and adventurous nature. The images are original and unique, not your typical children's book pictures. I highly recommend this title as a nurturing, safe, and delightful book for younger children and their parents. Daisy's Extraordinary Ordinary Day by Tracee Guzman is an extraordinary book that is wonderful from start to finish.
