Dancing with Our Selves: A Practical Guide to Harness the Ego and Live on Purpose by Brittany Hopkins Switlick is an engaging book about understanding and harnessing your ego self in healthy ways and cultivating a stronger connection with your higher self. As the ego self begins to develop in early childhood, shaping our responses based on the environment, experiences, and survival instincts, it tends to overshadow the higher self by dictating our every move. This book helps you recognize when and how your dramatic ego self takes the lead, causing you to react poorly and impulsively. It shows you how to allow your higher self to step forward in the partnership and guide you to a positive outcome. It provides the right tools, insights, teachings, and practices needed to acknowledge how the ego self influences your behavior, keep it in check, and invite your higher self to guide you.

In Dancing with Our Selves, Brittany Hopkins Switlick delivers a thoughtful exploration of the ego's influence on our lives, blending ancient yogic philosophy with modern, applicable tools for self-discovery. This clear, practical, and helpful book delves deeply into the intricate dance between our ego and higher self while also exploring the complexities of the Drama Triangle and the Empowerment Dynamic and their respective roles. It empowers the reader to break free from self-sabotaging patterns, offering practical ways to navigate challenging situations with greater clarity, confidence, and less drama. I appreciated that it highlights the gifts the ego brings to our lives and the essential roles it plays, and also that it states how the ego itself is not inherently bad.
