Deep Living: Healing Yourself to Heal the Planet by Susanne Meyer-Fitzsimmons is a thought-provoking book in which the author gives suggestions and practical advice on how to improve the quality of our life from the point of view of personal health, planetary health and sustainability, and community health and well-being. All the tips and suggestions are easy, simple, and will help us bring transformation to our world. The author not only discusses the philosophy of our cultural choices that have led to the ongoing environmental crisis, but also speaks about how to reexamine our values and see how they can be used to make positive changes in our daily lives. The possible holistic visions for five everyday aspects of life are helpful to interact with nature in cooperative and co-creative ways.
The book is profound and it is about modeling what a holistic and fulfilling life might look like, and helps us create it for ourselves. The book encourages readers to work in tandem with nature so that they are content and peaceful with their lives. The author’s inspiring words will help everyone to become healthy on all dimensions and heal our wounded planet through healing yourself. The author’s personal experience helps us connect well with her words, and the weaving of environmental changes with lack of spirituality is palpable. Throughout the book, we get to see the values and belief systems behind our present culture, and how a collective shift can be done by listening to our hearts’ message so that we can lead holistic and meaningful lifestyles that are environmentally sustainable and socially good for all.
