Demon Princess by Kassandra Lynn is a fantastic first book in the Demon Kingdom Fairy Tales. In a world where we meet Mages, Summon Beasts and Demons, we are introduced to an amazing place. Princess Adriana is about to be crowned Demon King in place of her father who, along with her brother, has gone missing, when the unthinkable happens - she is summoned by a Mage. Adriana becomes the Summon Beast for Aldric, which is unheard of as she is a Demon and Demons cannot become Summon Beasts. A Summon Beast has to obey everything their master tells them to. Adriana needs to hide her real identity while obeying her master. Adriana finds a way to break the bond between her and Aldric, which leads to a unusual partnership and an unforgettable adventure.
I fell in love with Adriana. I thought she was an amazing character. To me, Aldric was the kind of character that I cannot help but hate. He was even unwilling to take care of his Summon Beast at the start, leaving her to sleep on the floor and almost starve to death. Keldrin is a easy to love character and, even after he finds out that Adriana is a demon, he still wants to be with her. There are a host of interesting characters in this book and the world building is great. I cannot wait to continue in this series and see where we end up. Demon Kingdom Fairy Tales seems like a series that will only get better as it continues.
