Destiny: A Moment in Time, Novel Three by G.P. Gadbois is a page-burner of a romance novel. At the center of it all is Wendy, a talented woman in an abusive marriage to Greg. The only happiness she has is when she's singing on stage. With her husband cheating on her in front of her, her marriage is on the rocks, but destiny may have other plans. An old acquaintance, Kyle, enters her life unexpectedly, but Greg won't let go easily. As Wendy tries to mend her life away from Greg, on her own and with the help of old friends, she finds that escape and restoration are jeopardized once again. Kyle's life is in danger too. How can she escape the chains of her past and live free again?
There is plenty to like about this novel. It's very entertaining, has situations that, unfortunately, a lot of readers can relate to, and characters you grow to care for. You can easily put yourself in Wendy's position, caught between happiness and abuse. Sometimes the choice to leave isn't as easy as others make it out to be. There can be consequences. Dark consequences. But Wendy has met Kyle, and she's willing to take the risk with Kyle's help. I like the natural way the story unfolds, and there is some suspense built into the plot and some unexpected revelations that keep you anchored to the story until the end. There is definitely room for book number 4 in the series by Gadbois, but this work still stands on its own. Kyle is a great character, and her old college friends are a pleasant surprise.
