Devastating In A Kilt is a work of fiction in the steamy romance genre, and is the ninth book in the Hot Scots series. It is aimed at adults due to scenes of a (very) sexual nature and was penned by Anna Durand. The book follows the sizzling adventures of a young woman moving on from her divorce to Jack MacTaggart, a sexy Scotsman who knows how to please a woman. Thrown together one last time after the interference of a mutual friend, they try to part ways forever only for our heroine to realize that they’ve conceived a child. What follows is a torrid romance with plenty of thrills and emotional complications as our heroine discovers what really makes her tick.
I particularly enjoyed the author's vivid and cinematic writing style, which helped create atmosphere and made both the world and characters easy to envision. Autumn and Jack, the protagonists of the story, have an undeniable chemistry that made me invest in the characters and their relationship immediately. I enjoyed their nuanced union that had highs, lows, and a lot of intimate moments. Author Anna Durand crafts an engaging and involved plot full of twists and turns that will make you find it hard to put the book down. I felt Durand did a masterful job of crafting characters that were interesting, romantic, and dramatic, but without overdoing it or making it cliched. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Devastating In A Kilt to fans of sizzling romance novels and those looking for characters with believable and exciting relationships.
