DNA: The Awakened (Demons and Angels Book 1) by Neo Jade is a young adult book in the paranormal genre. DNA: The Awakened will appeal most to a young adult audience that enjoys the paranormal, angels, demons, monsters, adventure, thriller, science fiction, and/or fantasy. The story takes place a long time after a war between the angelic host and the demonic legions had ended through the power of the Earth’s defenders. The end of the war forced a sort of peace between the two and the blood feud slowly began to wane. A thousand years later, an invasion is coming to Earth and the only hope the planet and its people have are a boy, a girl, and a dog. This trio must work together to save the planet and end the war before all is lost.
Move over Sam Winchester, Castle, and Crowley, there are some new humans, angels, and demons in town. I have to say that DNA: The Awakened (Demons and Angels Book 1) by Neo Jade reminded me of a twist between Supernatural and Twilight. DNA: The Awakened combines elements of the paranormal together in a way that truly pulls the reader deeper and deeper into its pages, not to mention the trio of heroes, each with their own unique personalities. DNA: The Awakened is without a doubt an entertaining young adult book and the addition of a dog as a hero well truly makes it a great read.
