Double Blind by JA Foster is a taut, high-stakes spy thriller that wastes no time pulling readers into the fray. We're with elite operative Ethan Keller, who wakes up from a failed mission to find himself disavowed and hunted by the very agency that trained him. He’s thrown into a deadly game of cat and mouse. With no memory of what went wrong and only a conflicted CIA agent at his side, Ethan races to prevent a catastrophic assassination and to uncover the truth about his past. Every step forward leads to more questions, and every ally might be an enemy. Set against a backdrop of global tension and internal betrayal, this debut thriller delivers gripping action and psychological complexity.
Author JA Foster has a knack for suspense and for perfectly placing the clues of a mystery in progress, and this is a story that knows exactly how to keep its readers on edge. The plot moves fast, but the emotional beats are just as compelling, especially as Ethan’s fractured memories reveal a man struggling to trust his instincts while questioning his entire identity. This uncertainty in the central narrator is infectiously tense. I was hooked from the first chapter, not just by the suspense, but by the raw vulnerability under Ethan’s cool exterior. The writing is lean, cinematic, and unflinching, making for a story that feels both timely and timeless. Overall, Double Blind is a fierce, intelligent thriller that blends espionage and emotional stakes into a perfectly paced ride, and I would highly recommend it to fans of quickfire spy fiction.
