Double Take by Barbara Siebeneick opens with a seemingly ordinary day in the life of Monterey Homicide Detective Brad Evans, who is enjoying a day off to attend his twin sister Bea's acting debut at the historic First Theater. The festive atmosphere quickly turns tragic when, during intermission, actress Donna Brown, playing the lead role of Clara, is found murdered in a nearby storage shed. Her identical twin, Dorothy, seeks answers while running from a violent, abusive ex-husband. As the body count rises in the theater troupe, Detective Brad Evans uncovers a web of secrets. Dorothy feels comfortable with Bea and is also attracted to Brad while enduring grief and a new life. Can she risk falling in love, and can the murder of her twin sister be solved?
