Down Time: Further Adventures in Another When by ML Biddison is a historical sci-fi novel starring two star-crossed lovers from different timelines. Nat, a man from the twenty-first century, mysteriously time-traveled to the 1850s, where he met and fell in love with Tapique, a Mojave healer woman. They both teleported back to Nat's timeline to evade danger in the 1850s and lived happily in the twenty-first century until fate ripped them from each other's arms. This temporal separation resulted in Tapique being teleported back to her original timeline and Nat being whisked away into a different dimension altogether. Can Nat reconcile with the unexpected bombshells that await him in this alternate universe? Can he gain a better understanding of the secrets of time-traveling? Will he and Tapique triumphantly reconnect after a harrowing search for each other?
The answers to these questions eagerly await you in this thrilling tale. ML Biddison's Down Time is a dramatic, suspenseful, and adventure-packed novel that paints a picture of love so intense that it goes beyond the boundaries of time and dimensional travel. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story from Nat's and Tapique's vantage points. The respective challenges they encountered when attempting to reunite with each other made their journeys gripping and profound. The narrative that unravels in between each timeline flows uniformly, so readers never have to worry about becoming lost in over-complicated details. Overall, Down Time is a well-written novel with a steady pace that will grab your attention from beginning to end. If you love strong-willed, resilient characters and historical adventures that transport you across time and alternate universes, you will love this sweeping page-turner.
