Dragons’ Rebirth is a tale of magic, forbidden alliances, love, and betrayal in a world that is complex in its rules and where powerful forces are at play. The elves shattered the balance of the magical world when they tried to resurrect the last dragon, Scorchfire. The resurrection provokes the return of dozens of dragons, and that means chaos for the kingdom of Ichoryllia. Vampire Queen Samantha is fated to resurrect the demon Alastor, and now she clashes with King Nathan, a vampire-werewolf hybrid, seeking to reclaim his throne and rescue his destined mate from the elven King Erendriel. When Prince Akael rescues Elaine, he discovers she is the destined “veneficus dei” and dragon queen.
Dragons' Rebirth by Danielle Paquette-Harvey is a spellbinding fantasy. I was absorbed in a world with dragons, werewolves, and elven magic, which is all I want in a fantasy. The author demonstrates a unique gift for characterization in this book. I was fascinated by Elaine’s journey. We meet her in the story as a woman who only dreams about restoring elven magic, but as events unfold, she gradually assumes her role as the dragon queen. The relationship between Nathan and Samantha was excellent. Caleb and Summer’s relationship was another highlight, and I enjoyed the dynamic of their bond. There are classic elements of fantasy that make this a delightful read for fans of fantasy. These include ancient prophecies, artifacts like the Shard of Blood Right, multi-kingdom feuds, and mythical creatures. This book ticked all the boxes for me.
