Terrell Noalki grows up in an orphanage, but seems to know there is more to life than what is being presented to him. Dreams of Atlantis by Larry Krantz follows the life of Terrell, who seems to have some connection to the ruling class of Atlantis. Saved from execution at the last moment after a special tattoo is found on his chest, Terrell is sent to the North Province for five years of exile. Instead of wild men and horrible conditions, Terrell is exposed to another way of life in a virtual paradise where he learns many types of things and grows to maturity. After returning to Atlantis and becoming an Envoy to the aged ruler, Terrell lives a careful life, not wanting to antagonize the soon to be ruler who is ruthless and paranoid. In fear for his life, Terrell is again sent away where he learns even more about his past and finds the direction for his future. Will he be able to share his life with the woman he loves or will the forces of evil find him and remove what they feel is a threat?
Dreams of Atlantis by Larry Krantz is a wonderful story that takes a deep, hard look at the existing legends of Atlantis and adds elements of scientific theory about the early years of our planet and ancient cultures. All of the characters are well developed and the growth of Terrell from a rebellious boy into a mature leader unfolds realistically. All the elements of great fiction are included – drama, humor, love, heartache, loss, intrigue and personal growth. Dreams of Atlantis is a terrific read, guaranteed to hold your interest.
