On the land of Ersa are four mages—Fionn, Orin, Elias, and Primus—who, apart from having been raised together, were bound by an oath to protect the peace of Dunya, their homeworld. However, it had been no secret to the mages that Primus, also the Prince of Dacia, had always had insidious aspirations and an unchecked hunger for more. But none of them had ever anticipated what was about to befall Ersa. After partnering with a coven dubbed the 'dark sisters,' Primus launches a bloody campaign to rid Dunya of the very thing he has sworn to protect. He seems unstoppable as he murders his way to the top of the ranks of his magedom and the Kingdom of Dacia. Can Orin, Fionn, and Elias save Ersa and Dunya from what is coming? Find out in Dunya: The Mages of Ersa by R. A. McKee.
If you’re looking for a dark, epic fantasy novel flavored with adventure, drama, suspense, romance, and a touch of Celtic folklore, Dunya: The Mages of Ersa by R. A. McKee is a great pick. McKee drops readers in the middle of an enthralling make-believe world with extensive world-building and intricate prose. The scenes are vividly and distinctively captured, and I could feel the shifting moods, whether the characters were on the sea fighting for their lives or behind the walls of a cozy house. I bonded with the cast through lively, dynamic conversations that featured good-humored banter, camaraderie, sarcasm, and traces of cynicism. The story demonstrates the power of true love and friendship in the face of great adversity.
