Echoes in Snowfall is the third book in Tess Manchester’s True Time series. Featuring Blake Everhart, a US Marshall with the ability to manipulate time, this installment offers a riveting blend of action, thriller, and time-travel fantasy. The story transports us to the Snow Stack Resort in Destin, Colorado. Under the false undercover identity of Sarah Ashford, Blake infiltrates a clandestine criminal organization led by Salvatore Ravana. Blake’s mission is to find out the organization’s plans to create a new world order—the plans that involve numerous high-profile assassinations. Blake’s role is to get into the heart of the organization and prevent its crimes. And Blake also has her private mission to avenge the murder of her beloved brother. But will Blake succeed?
Echoes in Snowfall was my first encounter with Tess Manchester’s True Time series, and it read perfectly as a standalone. I had not a single dull moment reading this fast-moving story. It had everything that I, a fan of action thrillers, would expect of a perfect read—a story written in cinematic quality, packed with characters to love and hate, perilous, suspenseful hide-and-seek and deadly cat-and-mouse chases, breathtaking snowmobile rides and avalanches, and spectacular explosions—all enhanced with combat and gunfire on par with hardboiled Dashiell Hammett blockbusters. The fascinating fantasy time travel made it even more fun—I liked how time-pivoting portrayed several scenarios of critical events. If you enjoy fast-moving action thrillers and can cope with a moderate amount of gore, this story will appeal to you.
