Echoes of Minerva: Till Death Do Us Part? by Jo Ullah is a paranormal novel that follows the journey of Minerva, a devoted wife, before she tragically passed away. Instead of moving on, she is trapped in the body of her newborn daughter. So Minerva starts to watch over her daughter Sophie and her husband, Pete, as a spirit. Pete can feel her presence, knows Minerva is still hanging on, and struggles to move on with his life. Devastated and shattered by the loss, Pete has no idea how he will raise his daughter alone. Little did he know, but Minerva’s urge to protect her family was taking a darker edge, and her love was becoming something dangerous. Before they knew it, Minerva was destroying everything and everyone who tried to come between her and her family. Can Pete figure things out before Minerva becomes vengeful and wrecks everything?
Author Jo Ullah created an emotionally charged novel that had me hooked from the very beginning. I loved how Minerva was portrayed. She started as a sweet yet strong woman who turned into a dark entity that was not ready to let go. Dying in childbirth was traumatizing for her spirit, and that showed. Pete was a calm yet very present character. He held on to the feeling of Minerva and her presence until he was ready to move on. I loved the intensity of the story, the calm yet critical nature of the narrative, and the dark atmosphere, which really made the story irresistible. The short chapters ensured that I was entertained and intrigued at the same time, while the pace of the story allowed me to enjoy it even more. I cannot recommend Echoes of Minerva highly enough!
