In Michael S. Vassel's supernatural thriller, Eulogy of Lost Souls, since he was a child, Jim Miller possessed the ability to see and interact with the dead. Jim's grandfather gave him advice after his death to encourage the departed who visited him to offer their experiences and any information they thought Jim should share. A week after Jim's sister disappeared, he traveled to Florida in an attempt to find out what happened to her. When Jim got to Florida, he learned that the FBI was looking into the disappearance of another individual who went missing about the same time as his sister. With the help of his best friend Kenny, Jim followed evidence that eventually led him to the Diaz cartel, where he discovered there was more going on than initially thought.
Michael S. Vassel's Eulogy of Lost Souls was an adrenaline-fueled, suspenseful rollercoaster filled with the supernatural and the macabre. I was biting my nails since it was such a fast-paced, action-packed page-turner, and I was constantly on the edge of my seat. The plot was engaging from the beginning, and I was kept guessing by the twists and turns. I could easily identify with the characters. They simultaneously made me laugh and saddened me. I followed Jim's investigation into his sister's disappearance with great interest, and I thoroughly enjoyed the witty dialogue and realistic conversations between Jim and Kenny. The humor in the plot pleasantly surprised me, and the story was masterfully written. It is a brilliant supernatural thriller that I will highly recommend.
