Everyone Leaves This Place (Savage Spells Book 1) by R B Shifman is a creepy supernatural tale with plenty of twists and turns and some humor. Not only is this a really well-developed storyline, but it also deals with several social issues including underage marijuana and alcohol use, some LGBTQ issues and light romance. The characters are developed in depth, with lots of backstory and history that give great perspective and they are all likable and easy to relate to. The plot is well-paced, with plenty of action leading to a good solid ending that draws you in from the first page and elicits a number of emotions throughout. It is funny in places and that lightens what could otherwise be a very dark story, albeit a lightly-written one. Great story, I'm looking forward to the next one.
