Author Biography

Arlo is a former television cameraman, turned writer. After many years of trundling around the globe filming for broadcast, he took the decision to move into writing, his first real love. Whilst he still takes on the occasional camera assignment, to help pay the bills, he is much more fulfilled when sitting in front of my laptop, in a secluded location, bringing characters to life. When he’s working away, any downtime in hotels is spent writing, if at all possible, in the bar.

He grew up in Northern Ireland during the height of 'the troubles'. He spent time in a number of meaningless and pointless jobs, which he claims he did badly, before finding my way into the film and television industry.

In later life, Arlo moved around the UK, eventually settling in England after marrying an English woman, Jane. He went on to work in television, having a love for storytelling and adventure. He became a camera operator, learning the art of visual storytelling and editing. But he wanted more, to create scenes and characters, to develop worlds and implant ideas into people's heads. So, he turned his hand to writing. He gained a degree in creative writing from the Open University later in life and he is still learning, with each passage he writes. Arlo is always keen to communicate with readers and fellow authors, whether as beta readers, authors or customers, so please get in touch.

Extinction Protocol is a work of science fiction, suspense and thriller fiction penned by author Arlo Quinn. Coming bang up to date with current events, this intriguing novel explores the possibility of an extinction plan which has been put in place for the human race. Our central protagonist is Hunter, former employee to many ‘dark’ departments of the US Government. When Hunter discovers that alien races could be to blame for a certain global pandemic, so begins an incredible exploration where betrayal lurks around every corner. More than this, the clues may even lead Hunter to discover the whereabouts of his missing daughter in the process.

Author Arlo Quinn has crafted a timely and exciting read which captures the spirit of suspenseful extra-terrestrial fiction at its best. Hunter and Johona make a formidable pair as the investigation hots up, and attention is paid to some really unique details in their character development, which adds to the credibility and realism that grounds the piece. The technological elements of the plot also make good sense, which paves the way for the believable intrusion of aliens into the plot and keeps the whole novel tense and exciting. I also found the dialogue to be a great means of exposition and of getting to know the characters more intimately. Overall, Extinction Protocol is a highly recommended read for fans of science fiction of all kinds as it expertly combines techno, UFO, thriller and mystery genres to form something that you won’t be able to put down until it’s finished.
