Fabulous Flora: Trees and Leaves #1: Do Your Art Your Way for Mixed Media and Collage Art by Denise Bossarte is a creative book for all art lovers, collage artists, mixed media artists, and scrapbookers who want to include beautiful, copyright-free images in their artwork. This book has a good collection of trees, leaves, landscapes, and their close-up views that will draw readers closer to nature. The author’s artistic eye in capturing the beauty of nature encourages readers to observe their surroundings better and enjoy the beauty around them, despite leading busy lives.
I like the author’s thought of having a layout on just one side of the page so that the images in the book can be cut out to use in any piece of art. She also gives a large and a small image of each photograph. The trees and leaves in the pictures look fabulous and will connect readers to nature and motivate them to take a walk in their own gardens and in areas where there are a lot of trees. The essence, sights, and sounds of nature come alive through these pictures of trees and leaves. The author also gives reasons why the Do Your Art Your Way series was born and how her fellow student's personal experience of using an image from a free image site gave her the idea and the drive, purpose and desire to create books of copyright free images so that artists can use them without worrying about copyright.
