False Earth is the fifth book in the young adult Arch Mage Series by Cami Murdock Jensen. Imprisoned in the Nia Nega Abyss by Demon Lord Sharir, teenage Arch Mage Agnes Ann Cavanaugh is desperate to free herself from space purgatory and join her friends in the war against the Master of Demonkind. But fleeing demonic soldiers without her magic is not easy. While Sharir maneuvers the Devas into doing his bidding, Agnes finds herself teaming up with a reluctant imp and a young Deva girl to find her way back to freedom. However, Sharir the Endless has raised the stakes, and although Agnes' friends find new allies to take the fight to him, it ultimately falls upon Agnes to rise up to meet her destiny and save the universe from a terrible fate.
Action-packed and full of epic battle sequences involving magic, False Earth is a space odyssey any sci-fi or fantasy lover will be thrilled to undertake. Author Cami Murdock Jensen has created a sprawling world filled with demons, ogres, mages, kings, and many more fantastical creatures. It pushes the boundaries of your imagination and leaves you in a state of wonder and awe like only the very best fantasy stories can. As this is the fifth book in the series, the characters have established relationships and well-fleshed-out backstories. But Jensen puts enough expository scenes into the narrative to enable even first-time readers to understand and enjoy the story. I highly recommend it to young adult sci-fi and fantasy fans.
