Join Fifo the bear in another adventure in Fifo Musical Animals ABC, written by Hayley Rose and illustrated by Mark Sean Wilson. In this book, children will not only learn their ABCs, but they will also learn about animals and musical instruments. For each letter, there is an animal and an instrument that begins with that letter. For example, for the letter A, it says, “Fifo plays the accordion with an aardvark.” There is also a fun picture of both Fifo and an aardvark playing accordions. So if children aren’t familiar with certain animals or instruments, the associated pictures will help them visualize what they look like.

I absolutely adored this book. And being a grown adult, I actually learned about animals and musical instruments that I had never heard of, so it will definitely teach both children and their parents something they didn’t know. I thought this was such a cute and clever way to incorporate the concepts of the alphabet, animals, and music in an engaging way that children will enjoy. Also, the illustrations are amazing. The vibrant colors and detailed images surely complement the brilliant writing perfectly. I haven’t had the pleasure of reading any other Hayley Rose books yet, but I will certainly be checking them out after reading this one. I can see Fifo Musical Animals ABC in children’s personal libraries as well as classroom libraries because this book would be such a wonderful tool for educating children both in and outside of school. It is a must-read!

Fifo Musical Animals ABC is a great children’s book that any parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle with a young child in their life should certainly purchase for their little one. Written in a highly engaging style, the story’s main character, a bear named Fifo, will take children on a journey through the alphabet, complete with animals and instruments rocking out on each page! Author Hayley Rose and illustrator Mark Sean Wilson have combined their talents to create a beautiful book that children will certainly have a hard time putting down. Little Fifo makes friends with animals and certainly sees some unique instruments as the story goes on, and the children reading the story are sure to learn.

This book would be a simply excellent choice for both the home and the classroom. Teaching the alphabet in a fun way, children, and maybe even the adults reading it will also learn some new animal and instrument names along the way. The illustrations are beautifully done, colorful and fun, and the words of the story are simple and get the point across. This book would be an excellent choice as a gift for a child you love, or for a teacher with young ones in his or her classroom. Fifo Musical Animals ABC is a top notch choice in literature for the young child, and author Hayley Rose and illustrator Mark Sean Wilson should absolutely pair up again to work on another one of these gems! I, for one, would be in line to get it as soon as it was available!

Fifo Musical Animals ABC is a children’s picture book written by Hayley Rose and illustrated by Mark Sean Wilson. Fifo is a bear who just loves music, and he enjoys performing on different musical instruments with his friends. He knows how to play musical instruments from around the world, and he’s equally at home playing in a formal situation as he is in the comfort of his home. Every single letter in the alphabet is listed in this educational book for children, because the author was determined to search the globe for unique and little-known musical instruments whose names fit into the alphabet from A through Z, and she succeeded brilliantly. Rose has also discovered that Fifo’s circle of animal friends and their playing skills fit right into that alphabetical scheme.

Hayley Rose’s children’s picture book, Fifo Musical Animals ABC, is an absolutely fabulous introduction to the alphabet, animals and musical instruments, that will delight and intrigue adults as well as the children in their care. Mark Sean Wilson’s illustrations are bold, brightly colored and dynamic, and each panel is original and distinctive. I had a lot of fun studying each panel to see how the featured animal was represented, and was amazed at the variety of musical instruments displayed in this book. Fifo Musical Animals ABC is perfect for story time or bedtime, but it will also be a marvelous first reader for young animal enthusiasts as well as those who are musically inclined. And adults shouldn’t expect to see the same old tired musical instruments and animals displayed in this fun and informative book -- this book is filled with unusual instruments and a few animals most people have never heard of. Fifo Musical Animals ABC is most highly recommended.

What a darling book I just finished! Fifo Musical Animals ABC by author Hayley Rose and illustrator Mark Sean Wilson combines a lovely story for children with beautiful and colorful illustrations that will be sure to delight any young child. Follow a little bear, Fifo, as he goes through the alphabet, each letter including an animal and an instrument starting with that letter on the page. Any child will find the story engaging and will certainly be thrilled with learning the names of each of the animals and instruments pictured. From the aardvark with the accordion to the tiger with the trombone, each page is simply a joy.

I so enjoyed Fifo Musical Animals ABC. This is a delightful story truly well suited for the preschool to early learning stages of child development. Fifo is a sweet little bear, and his presence ties the story together from start to finish, but meeting each of his new animal friends and seeing the instruments they play adds interest to each page. Author Hayley Rose and illustrator Mark Sean Wilson have done a simply amazing job with this book, and I can see it being one that will become a favorite of many children, families and teachers. Both the words and the illustrations are highly appealing, and I can certainly envision a child spending a great deal of time studying each and every page. I highly recommend Fifo Musical Animals ABC for children aged seven years or older and their families, and I will certainly be looking for more work from this incredibly talented duo in the future.

Fifo Musical Animals ABC is a vibrantly illustrated children’s story that enthusiastically introduces young readers to the alphabet and musical instruments. Children have a natural affinity and fascination with animals and what better way to teach children new things than by watching their favorite animals in concert? The first letter for each animal and each musical instrument corresponds to each letter of the alphabet, and the star of the show, so to speak, is none other than the very talented Fifo. The continuous appearance of Fifo with each animal in each new musical setting creates a sense of familiarity which children will find comforting. It is also a wonderful interactive tool for children to identify Fifo, identify each animal and identify each instrument. Parents can also use the colorful illustrations to develop their young children’s cognitive skills by prompting the identification of each particular animal, instrument, the sound made by each letter of the alphabet, and the sound produced by each instrument.

Musicality is an important aspect in every child’s development as it encourages fluidity in movement and in expression while young minds are naturally curious and eager to learn – and let’s face it, there’s much to learn from this book. Who has ever heard of an euphonium, an igil, a janggu, a lusheng, a nagak, a quena, a repinique, a xun, a yunluo or a zither? Not most, I’m sure, and I’m also willing to bet that not very many zoos have a numbat, an uakari or a xerus! The author, Hayley Rose, introduces her readers, both young and old, to some interesting and unusual musical instruments played by some very unusual animals, all done through beautifully illustrated sketches by the talented Mark Sean Wilson. The wonderful combination of primary colors pops and is irresistible to children. All in all, Fifo Musical Animals ABC is rich in both detail, imagination and in research, and is the perfect learning and teaching tool for children, parents and teachers alike.
