Firestorm by Dana Wayne follows Jenna McCray, a business owner in a small Texas town who is trying to regain control of her life after a very painful divorce and a stressful relationship. Without warning, strange events suddenly begin to happen around her. Anonymous roses are sent to her, her workplace suffers a suspicious fire, and her home is broken into. As the threats grow more personal, Jenna decides to accept help from kind-hearted Thomas Donovan, the local fire marshal, who steps in during one of her worst moments. While working together to keep her safe, Jenna and Donovan uncover evidence that the danger around her is actually deliberate. Can they discover who's behind these threats before things completely spiral out of control?
Firestorm by Dana Wayne is a romantic suspense story that blends danger and attraction while keeping the stakes real and the story easy to follow. If you're a fan of other romantic suspense novels like Haunting Adeline and To Die For, you'll love this one. It keeps a quick pace without skipping key moments, and the sense of danger grows gradually instead of all at once. Wayne’s writing really draws you in, especially when explaining police work and fire investigations. I also love how Jenna is written as a capable female lead without being invincible. But despite her fears, she still keeps moving forward. Donovan’s calm nature works without turning him into a stock hero or an overdone character. Watching their connection grow as the mystery unfolds strengthens the story, creating a pull that keeps the suspense, the characters, and the stakes working together right to the end.
