Kimberley Payne's "Fit for Faith: 7 weeks to improved spiritual & physical health" is a great resource for anyone who wants to improve his or her health and overall well-being. The first part of the book contains short chapters each focusing on a specific aspect including goal setting, journal writing, stretching, reading the Bible, and making healthier food choices. Each chapter is broken into well-defined paragraphs and sections making the information easy to read and understand. The second part of the book contains a workbook for the reader to fill in one's daily habits for seven weeks. The workbook is split into seven weeks and each day is also given separately so that one can keep track of daily exercise, eating habits and choices as well as water intake and also questions for reflection. Each day begins with a prayer as well.
I have never seen a book like this that encourages the readers to improve both their physical and spiritual lives with such a thorough approach and a user-friendly workbook! This is such an excellent resource as it is easy to use and not intimidating as some exercise programs can be. I love the format of the workbook especially as there is ample room to write and answer the questions. It is not the same thing every day either, as different reflection questions are included as well as myths and facts. The weekly reflections are great and it becomes a time to think about and review the past week and also an encouragement to stay on track and not give up in the upcoming week. This is a great reminder that we should take care of our bodies not only physically but spiritually and mentally as well.
