The brother and sister team, Sonny and Sandy Swinhart, has created another children’s hit in Focus Like a Fox. This book is part of the Better You Zoo series. Children love animals because they are cute and fuzzy. As such, they can catch the attention of young children and teach them about nature. Focus Like a Fox teaches children the importance of focusing. Children need to learn how to focus and why it is so important. Sonny and Sandy use a fox’s characteristics to teach children life lessons. The primary lesson in this book is how focusing can help a child succeed in whatever they attempt. In addition, focusing helps keep distractions from causing defeat. The fox helps children understand that they must first focus on what they wish to achieve.
Sonny and Sandy Swinhart have mastered the art of combining compelling photographs with writing intriguing dialog. Sonny and Sandy have taken the time to pick pictures of foxes that will emphasize their lesson. There are a few other exciting animal pictures in the book, but the thrust is on how the fox is known for his focus. Parents need to spend time with their children teaching characteristics that will lead them to succeed in life. Focusing is one of these vital characteristics. This series helps parents teach their children. I hope that Sonny and Sandy continue to add more books with different animals to teach positive characteristics. You will be glad you bought this book to read and discuss with your children.
