The peace of Far North New Zealand is interrupted when a secret discovery in an oil shale pit on a farm attracts a special kind of unwanted attention in Morris Leyland’s novel, Frack. Ariki Samuel is a specially trained warrior who performed special duty with a private security team called Bright Steel Security in the dangerous streets of Baghdad. Tough as nails and wisdom-hardened through battle, he not only faces dangerous situations, but also actions by unscrupulous team members which place him in an extremely difficult position. Having enough of it all, he returns to his family’s farm in New Zealand, ready to live a much more peaceful life. When Bright Steel Security calls him for a special mission of driving a representative around for 3 days, he is too busy - until he receives the offer of $10,000 for the job. What he doesn’t know is that all hell is about to break loose in Northern New Zealand and he and his twin brother are both right in the middle of it.
Morris Leyland packed plenty of suspense into Frack. Drawing the reader into a deep emotional connection to his characters, Leyland makes it impossible to put the book down. With the secret of whatever it is in the oil shale pit reserved until the very end, you simply can’t stop turning pages and watching the story unravel. The unexpected twists that thrust each of the players involved into changing situations keep the story alive with action. A suspenseful, action-packed pager turner, Frack will hold you in its grasp to the very end.
