Getting to Know Sea Turtles: With the Sea Turtle Experts by J. P. Taylor is a splendid way to introduce your child to the amazing world of marine life. Showcasing the seven species of sea turtles with beautiful color pictures and interesting facts, this book will delight children. I considered becoming a marine biologist when I was young, and I am very excited that this book will touch lives. Young readers will learn that turtles are cold-blooded reptiles. They will also learn about each species’ size, habitat, and egg-laying habits. Why are green sea turtles called “green”? Which type of sea turtle is the largest? After reading this children’s book, your child will know these facts and how the nest’s temperature affects the sex of the turtles that hatch. Another important topic discussed in this book is protecting the environment.
There are only seven kinds of sea turtles, and each is discussed in Getting to Know Sea Turtles by J. P. Taylor. The author uses beautiful images to draw young readers into the wonderful world of marine life and teaches facts from scientists who deal with sea turtles to keep children’s interest. This book is written on a level that most six to ten-year-old children can easily understand. Some children may need help pronouncing and understanding scientific words, but they will enjoy reading the book. The facts given will stick with them, and they will be motivated to learn more about marine life. Taylor also includes some of the dangers that sea turtles face from pollution. This book is well-written and filled with many colorful photographs of the different types of sea turtles. I highly recommend this book to all readers.
