Heaven Hill is a children's book by author Cheri Decker. The story follows a new family as they settle into their neighborhood. They quickly discover a special spot near their home. The children find this place to be enchanting and call it Heaven Hill. It becomes a space where they can play, meditate, do somersaults, dance, and experience pure joy. It is also a place to rest and a place to escape. As the narrative unfolds, the author skillfully portrays the growth of the family and the expanding circle of children who come to cherish this beloved location. The family moves again and leaves this spot behind. They acknowledge that God's presence is everywhere. In their experience, they realize that this is what ultimately made Heaven Hill special.

I found Heaven Hill to be a sweet and gentle rhyming story. The illustrations are simple, colorful, and bright. Through the children's experiences at Heaven Hill, Cheri Decker introduces God as Creator and Father, the beauty of new life, and the importance of family time. The realization that the true essence of Heaven Hill—God's presence—can be found everywhere is a powerful message that resonates beyond the pages. This book is a valuable resource for families navigating change and seeking to strengthen their faith. So many families experience moving to a new house or having a new family member. I highly recommend this book as a comforting reminder to children that joy and peace are found in the simplest places.
