Two adorable teddy bears star in this lighthearted wintertime story. Hey Joe, It's Snow by Brenda Nelson starts with a sleepy Joe in bed. Cravish, his friend, gives him a nudge to wake him up. He encourages Joe to look outside and see what's happening. It's snowing! So, Joe and Cravish decide to head outdoors. They bundle up and grab their sled. After climbing to the top of the hill, they fly down and get launched into the air. Were they hurt? No, they loved it! They are having so much fun they don't realize how deep the snow is getting for two teddy bears with very short legs. How will they find their way back home?

Brenda Nelson has written a charming, gentle story that will delight kids and adults. What fun to see two teddy bears engaged in typical cold weather activities. The illustrations, also by Brenda Nelson, are softly colored. Cravish and Joe are distinctly different and move like teddy bears throughout the story. Each outdoor scene is blanketed in a background of falling snow. Adults looking for a sweet, slightly adventurous story for their young readers will love Hey Joe, It's Snow. It's a perfect choice to read before kids venture out in the snow themselves. Of course, one of the best parts about cold winter days is the opportunity to come in and warm up with a cup of hot cocoa. Hey Joe, It's Snow will be welcomed by teddy bears and snow lovers. It is an enjoyable read, guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
