Garrett Ramsey and his friends always seem to have a knack for getting in trouble, pulling pranks on each other and lying to get themselves out of one jam or another. This time, it didn’t work and when legal trouble finds them, Garrett and Jeff Tamworth join the army. After a grueling regiment of basic training, they are shipped off to Viet Nam to set up Mash units. When a mission goes wrong, Garrett and Jeff are among the injured and are released from their duties and sent home. Life becomes somewhat normal as Garrett takes over the family business, gets married and does his best to stay out of trouble.

This is book two in Gary Turcotte’s Silver Street series. Readers will encounter comedy mixed with tragedy, fear and forgiveness as the characters are pushed at times to their very limit. I like the way the author has portrayed the characters` friendship throughout the books. When the chips are down they are there for each other standing up against insurmountable odds.
