Author Biography

My perfect day: Laptop; WiFi availability; Java Mocha; characters demanding their stories be told; a plot that comes together; and hours to live in an alternate reality. Afterward, I return home to wash dishes and vacuum.

Seriously, I have always loved reading, and now I love writing. As a preteen, I devoured Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Mysteries. When I reached my teen years, the romance genre became my favorite and that has never changed. A few years ago, I decided to try my hand at writing and I've been doing so with a passion ever since. I have written around twenty novels and novellas in the genres of contemporary western romance, historical western romance, and fantasy romance. Because I hate saying goodbye to characters who have lived with me for months, I usually create a series so they can be revisited from book to book.

"Honey Kisses" is book 2 in Verna Clay's 'Romance on the Ranch' series. Annie and Jackson meet up face to face once again at the wedding reception of Annie's son Jacob and Julie, daughter of Sage and Sarah. Having met and danced together while vacationing at Sage's ranch, Annie cannot deny the attraction she felt for Jackson then, and now. Although Annie is now widowed and available, she is still many years older than Jackson and full of secrets. Desperate for a job, Annie begins to work for Jackson and at the same time is a part of a match-making scheme. Suddenly, when Annie and her family are threatened, she must rely on some skills she utilized in the past. Will this be the end for Jackson and Annie, the end of something that has hardly gotten a start?

This book is a wonderful continuation of the series! Annie and Jackson are both lovable characters from book one, "Dream Kisses". It focuses on Sage and Sarah's story and they completely deserve their own book as well! It is important to read this series in order as each book builds upon the previous one(s) and they are too wonderful to miss out on as well! The character of Annie came alive on these pages as she is adjusting to life without her husband, but still dealing with his habits from when he was alive. Annie is also rediscovering herself and she is finding joy in the little things in life that she has been missing out, such as redecorating and cooking meals that are being appreciated and enjoyed by others. Sarah and Annie's friendship began in book one and has just continued to grow. This is a wonderful romance series that will have you loving the characters, and wishing to join their lives on the ranch!
