Hoping For A Family by Mona Risk is the nineteenth installment of the Love Plans series. When Lisa Miller -- a nurse practitioner at the Fort Lauderdale Winston Clinic -- is unexpectedly called upon to be a bridesmaid by her former college roommate, Briana, at her wedding, she wasn't planning on adopting her old high school bully Genna's three young daughters. But to Lisa's astonishment, Dr. Wade Wolf, the forty-seven-year-old CEO of Winston Medical Center, steps in to offer his unwavering support in helping Lisa take care of the children. Lisa is determined not to lose the children to the CPS, as the kids are traumatized by their experiences in foster homes. Meanwhile, Lisa and Wade develop feelings for each other. Can Wade and Lisa offer the family home these children desperately need?

Mona Risk has written a heartwarming tale laced with romance and drama. Hoping For A Family is a story about forging familial bonds with strangers and finding love at the most unexpected moments. The author paces the narrative very well with a plot that has enough twists and turns to keep readers engaged all the way through. I was particularly impressed by the character development. Lisa, at the beginning of the story, is a different woman from who she becomes by the end of the narrative. Lisa and Wade's romance feels genuine and is one of the primary highlights. But I also immensely enjoyed the scenes featuring Lisa and Wade with the three children. It is the kind of comfort read that romance fans will like to revisit over and over again. An engrossing novel for contemporary romance readers.
