Hysterical Hangouts with The Hindlegs by G. S. Gerry is a finely wrought work that will delight anyone who enjoys well-crafted comedy. Viktor Sniperbone seems to have everything any young man dreams of—great health, strength, and independence—but he has always wanted someone to share his life. Then Mandi Hindleg, the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, comes into his life. After dating her for six months, Viktor is convinced she is to be his future wife. When they visit the Hindlegs family, Viktor quickly finds out that Mandi's casual words at dinner may have more truth to them than he could have imagined. Her whole family is “over the top, hysterical, and beyond extreme!” The Hindlegs are wild, ruthless in their behavior, and funny in the wildest sense of the word. Viktor can't keep the entertainment to himself; he wants the world to watch the drama as it unfolds in real-time. He plans to transform it into the best reality show without the Hindlegs knowing what is happening.
G. S. Gerry's Hysterical Hangouts with The Hindlegs is one of the best comedy books I have read in a long time. The idea behind the book is brilliant, and it is wonderfully executed. It is interesting to notice the contrast between how Mandi talks about her loving family and what that family is like. The author knows how to keep readers engaged, introducing intriguing characters and writing strong plot points. I was instantly pulled in with the Commodore's frolics just as Mandi and Viktor arrived at their home. While readers enjoy the unfolding drama at the Hindlegs, they will be keen on watching if Viktor's plan will succeed and wondering what can happen should the Hindlegs discover it. The writing is gorgeous, and the author's extraordinary ability to capture the emotions and pulse of the characters enriches the whole story. You won't be able to put this down so get ready for wild laughter.
