Is she really being followed? Who are they and why are they trying to kill her? In the suspense novel, In His Protection by P.L. Harris, Melody Maddison discovers that life, situations and circumstances are not what they seem, even with those closest to you. Ever since she found that picture of her mother and a new born baby that she didn't know, while cleaning out her mother's belongings, her life has never been the same. Who is this baby? Where is the child now? Why hadn't her mother ever said anything about the baby or the picture? Are these mysterious events - from prank calls to almost getting killed - tied to this picture? Melody has a lot on her plate with finding out the mystery behind the picture and keeping it secret from her sister, Riley. She believes that she must protect Riley at all costs. When Noah St Reeve enters the picture and provides his Security and Personal Protection services, she believes this is what she needs but is it? What does he already know?

I really loved this book because it's a wonderful page turner. The story kept my interest from the beginning to the end due to the twists and turns of the plot. It was also nice to discover that P.L. Harris has a great body of work for me to investigate. There are several books written in various genres for the avid reader from Lovers of Love, and Lovers of Mystery and Suspense to The Cupcake Capers Series (Sleuth). Funny how secrets can either stay hidden or come back to bite us or our loved ones. This book is a must, not only to read but to add to your library and to tell others that enjoy suspense novels. In His Protection by P.L. Harris is for fans of romantic suspense and intrigue. Enjoy!

In His Protection is a romance novel with a suspenseful atmosphere, penned by author P. L. Harris. The first book in the Burrum Ridge Series, this romantic but also mysterious tale delivers action, thrills, secrets, lies and love all in one highly atmospheric package. Our hero and heroine are Noah St. Reeve and Melody Maddison, in some ways very different in their temperament and approach to life. Noah is a steadfast protector who realizes that the feisty, impetuous Melody needs someone to watch her back. With his support, Melody will uncover a family secret belonging to her lost mother, and with it she’ll make enemies who would rather see that secret taken to the grave.

Author P. L. Harris pitches the romantic suspense genre perfectly in this ideal example of how to hold romance and mystery in balance throughout a tale. There’s plenty of emotional integrity to the development of the characters, particularly in the case of Melody, whose prior grief and fierce determination become a driving force of the narrative as a whole. Noah is an interesting leading man for his reticence; dutiful but not overbearing as so many male leads can be. Overall, I found the dialogue believable, which gave the story a great realistic grounding against the surprising discoveries that Melody makes about her mother and ‘the other child’ in the photograph she finds. I was hooked from page to page by the slow reveal style of the tale, and the action and drama embedded in Harris's In His Protection are certain to please all readers.

In His Protection, a romantic thriller by P.L. Harris, unravels a big mystery within the small town of Burrum Ridge, Australia. Melody Maddison is almost run down by a crazed driver. Noah St. Reeves saves her life, but only because he has been watching her in the little outdoor cafe. Her anxious attitude drew his attention and her beauty kept it. Offering her his service as a protection agency was the most logical way to see her again. Little did they both know the trouble she had stirred up by showing the photo of her mother and a baby around town. This unknown child was her sibling, but who is it? The closer Melody gets to the answer, the closer she is to danger. Can Noah protect her as he promised? Melody wonders if his service comes with protecting her heart as well?

The unique adoption scenario sets In His Protection apart from other romance suspense novels. P.L. Harris adds affection to danger, passion to fear, and resolve to daring. The author keeps the pace swift as Melody races to find the child before the enemy finds her. I enjoyed watching Melody and Noah unravel clues, but the closer they come to the truth, the nearer the foe is to harming all those involved. The insecurities Melody and Noah have are realistic as they both had destructive events in their past. Their connection is endearing and sweet as they find each other and they open their hearts to risk and love. The author bonds the characters to the reader and leaves the reader craving another one of her books.
