Author Biography

“I am a visual storyteller, continually moved and inspired by the magic of nature and the human spirit.”

Growing up in a sleepy, Midwest town, being outdoors was the way of life for every kid. Entertainment included catching fireflies at dusk, scampering up trees (that granted both views and bloodied knees), and playing outside until the horizon gulped the last morsel of light. This early bond with nature continues to be a powerful influence in my work.

My imagery, sometimes described as 'Magical Realism', are visual dream stories that blur the lines between reality and fantasy, laced with symbols and emotion that take the viewer to distant places in the imagination. These spaces invite one to step inside -- to pause, reflect, and consider the possibilities of our greatest potential.

'Inhabiting Bliss' was born from some personal challenges in recent years--at the same time when I was hungry to explore new paths for my work. A passion rose up to combine my love for design, painting, and writing into one format and create a visual narrative that would inspire and encourage others to see that our best selves are already in front of us.

After graduating with a BFA from Miami University (Ohio), my career bloomed over the years in the visual arts industry as a graphic designer, painter, illustrator, gallerist, and writer. My work has been exhibited in museum invitationals and dozens of gallery solo and group shows across the country.
