Judith A. Harrah's children's book, "Jesus, I Believe," is an invaluable treasure for every family with young children! Harrah writes in rhyme the basic principles of faith in God and believing that the Bible is true. The belief that God was born to a virgin, and later crucified and is living in Heaven is the basis for one's salvation and the guarantee of eternal life in Heaven for those who believe. These truths are shared simply for young children to grasp and begin to understand at a young age. Julie Kukreja's illustrations are beautiful and enhance the written truths on the pages for the young readers.
I was very excited to receive this book and read it to my children! My children attend Sunday School and are therefore aware of Jesus and Biblical stories and this book is a great way to further reinforce the truths and the basic beliefs that are being instilled in them. This is a very quick read and as it is written in rhyme, it holds children's attention very well. The illustrations are beautiful and I love that a young boy is in the pictures discovering each belief as it reinforces the point that even a young child can believe in Jesus and the truths that are the premise of faith in God. The author's goal in writing this book is to take the truths of God's Word, the Bible, and place them on the "bottom shelf" where even young children can read them and understand.
