Chuck didn't want his son to have died for nothing, so he went to Vietnam to join the war effort years after his retirement. To discover how these characters interact in the fight for South Vietnam, get a copy of The Last Of Annamese by Tom Glenn.
I have read many books about the Vietnam War, but The Last Of Annamese by Tom Glenn is the most captivating. Told from the perspective of a father who had lost a son, the book's narration and highly engaging nature as the carefully woven plot unraveled got me hooked from the first chapter. The pace was reader-friendly, and Tom was highly effective in capturing the emotions of the well-developed characters, making the plot very entertaining and realistic. The vivid descriptions of events as they unfolded also helped create a mental picture of what was happening. The reader will also appreciate the book's unique angle in capturing the Vietnam War as the author has told the story from both American and Vietnamese perspectives. I can't wait to read something else from this talented author.
