Late Life is the third novel in the Cooper Madison Trilogy by Dan Largent. The story of Cooper, Cara, and Jason continues as they come across new hurdles and challenges. While Cooper has recovered from his surgery and is looking at a new “late life” peak in his career, his relationship with Cara Knox is thriving. At the top of the world, Cooper was ready to conquer it all. However, when a tragedy struck in Cara’s life, Cooper was on the precipice of choosing between his career and the love of his life. Detective Jason Knox was struggling with the Edgewater Park Killer case. He was in over his head with this case, and one missed step could reveal to the world that the EPK saga is not over yet, and the killer may still be at large. What will Jason do now that his reputation and his whole career are on the line?
Wow, oh wow, author Dan Largent did a fantastic job with Late Life. From how the story began to the ending, he made sure readers were aware they were in for a major ride they would not want to leave at any cost. I loved the chemistry between Cooper and Cara. They understood each other and stood by each other’s side during the harsh times. Jason’s story was fantastic. I was fully invested in the story after reading the blurb, and by the time I read the fifth chapter, I didn’t want to stop anytime soon. Jason Knox was incredibly refined and well-fleshed out. I could hardly find any flaw in him, yet he was an imperfectly perfect human. His reactions were realistic, and the ending with Mick brought tears to my eyes. Kudos to author Dan Largent for a fantastic job well done!
