Leap of Faith (La Flor Series Book 1) by ML Rodriguez is a contemporary romance with paranormal and magical realism elements about love, loss, and second chances. Faith married Jake at age 18 and they were happy. Until the night everything changed and Jake was taken from her, leaving her widowed, pregnant, and a single mother. She wasn't sure how she would survive and live, or actually even enjoy life. Out of the question. That is, until Zane steps into the picture. A pure alpha male, Zane is sexy and powerful and knows what he wants. And what he wants is a chance with Faith. But her dead husband Jake is looking beyond the grave, keeping an eye on and protecting his family. Will he approve of Faith's relationship with Zane? Or can Faith learn to let go her lost past and focus instead on her bright future?
This is a very emotional romance that tackles the issues of loss and moving forward in a real and gritty way. Readers will definitely ride the emotional roller coaster as this story progresses, and possibly shed a tear or two. There are so many twists and surprises in this story that readers will never want to put the book down and won't be able to flip the pages fast enough. All in all, a great bone chilling read that is fast paced, interesting, sad, scary, and thoroughly thought provoking and entertaining. A wonderful read!
