In the completely enthralling new work by author Rebecca Belliston, Liberty: Book Two of the Citizens of Logan Pond series, readers are again invited into the lives of those living in Logan Pond. Living illegally and hiding from a corrupt government, the small group must do all they can to survive. And Carrie, our protagonist, has even more to worry about. She has to care for her younger siblings, and she’s in the middle of a love triangle between the sensible choice, Simmons, the patrolman with whom a relationship makes the most sense, and Greg, the man she simply cannot forget about. Set in a future that doesn’t seem at all unlikely, in many ways Liberty is both thought provoking and eerie in the possibilities it portrays.

Liberty was a great read. Simple as that. It grabbed me by my throat from the start, and I obsessively read it through to the finish. Author Rebecca Belliston’s writing chops are certainly certified with this novel, and I can’t imagine that she’ll remain undiscovered for long. She’s done a great job with everything from character development to scene setting, and her plot line moves swiftly and eventfully forward. Any reader who likes dystopian reads, excitement and thrills with a little romance thrown in, or simply a great book of fiction in general will love Liberty. The novel ends with a definite cliffhanger, and I, for one, will be waiting impatiently for the third and final installment of this great series to be released. Rebecca Belliston, I hope you are hard at work on the next book. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for it!

Wow! Just, wow! That’s what I thought when I finished reading Book Two of the Citizens of Logan Pond series by author Rebecca Belliston. Liberty is set in a dystopian future and follows the story of Carrie, a young woman trying to raise her younger brother and sister amongst all of the governmental rules and regulations as well as the constant threat of uprising. Struggling between her feelings for Greg and the relationship that she knows makes more sense for her with Simmons adds another layer of intrigue to this already engaging and highly interesting story. Full of twists and turns and an absolute roller coaster ride from start to finish, Liberty will have Rebecca Belliston’s readers turning the pages from start to finish and absolutely clamoring for more!

I so, so enjoyed Liberty. I originally picked it up, already past the time I should have been asleep, and intended to read only a few chapters. Well, when my husband woke up and found me still reading at 2 a.m., I obviously knew I had a really winner on my hands! Author Rebecca Belliston has done an absolutely fabulous job in creating both a story and characters that her readers will connect with, relate to and care about, even if their surroundings are not quite the same as our own. I was still thinking about Carrie and Greg long after I finished the book, and if that isn’t a hallmark of a great author, I guess I am not sure what is. Readers who love books filled with action, thrills, romance, or dystopian settings should definitely pick up Liberty. I highly recommend this book, and I look forward to reading more from the very promising author, Rebecca Belliston, as soon as possible.

Liberty by Rebecca Belliston is book two in the Citizens of Logan Pond series. I would describe the genre of this series as dystopian, action and adventure all rolled into one. The book continues the story of a group of people who are hiding and attempting to survive in a dystopian society ruled by a corrupt government. Several of the main characters are living illegally in the settlement and have to hide from officers and anyone representing the authority in the area. The book has many tense scenes where you wonder if someone will make it back, get discovered, be interrogated and everything in between! One of the main characters, Carrie, is caught in a bit of love triangle (one from each side of the law), which really puts her in a complicated position. When the characters get news of a possible rebellion, then everything changes. Will they choose to stay hidden or will they rise up and fight?

I thought Liberty was an interesting read. The author does a great job continuing the story and keeping the action and plot moving forward. The book didn’t have that second book drag which sometimes tends to happen with follow up books. I found the characters flawed but likeable; which made them much more realistic in my opinion. Readers do have to read book one first in order to completely understand the storyline; book two (of course) follows up directly from book one and also leads into book three (which I need to read!). I would recommend Liberty by Rebecca Belliston for fans of dystopian, action, adventure and romance genres.
