In the completely enthralling new work by author Rebecca Belliston, Liberty: Book Two of the Citizens of Logan Pond series, readers are again invited into the lives of those living in Logan Pond. Living illegally and hiding from a corrupt government, the small group must do all they can to survive. And Carrie, our protagonist, has even more to worry about. She has to care for her younger siblings, and she’s in the middle of a love triangle between the sensible choice, Simmons, the patrolman with whom a relationship makes the most sense, and Greg, the man she simply cannot forget about. Set in a future that doesn’t seem at all unlikely, in many ways Liberty is both thought provoking and eerie in the possibilities it portrays.
Liberty was a great read. Simple as that. It grabbed me by my throat from the start, and I obsessively read it through to the finish. Author Rebecca Belliston’s writing chops are certainly certified with this novel, and I can’t imagine that she’ll remain undiscovered for long. She’s done a great job with everything from character development to scene setting, and her plot line moves swiftly and eventfully forward. Any reader who likes dystopian reads, excitement and thrills with a little romance thrown in, or simply a great book of fiction in general will love Liberty. The novel ends with a definite cliffhanger, and I, for one, will be waiting impatiently for the third and final installment of this great series to be released. Rebecca Belliston, I hope you are hard at work on the next book. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for it!
