Lily and Mr. Bones by Andrew Biel is a cool Halloween adventure for children. It’s Halloween, and Lily is out trick-or-treating with her friends. She ate so much candy that, when she got home, she fell into bed, her head spinning. Suddenly, a skeleton appears on her windowsill! Scared at first, she soon learns that Mr. Bones is friendly, and he just wants to teach her about the beautiful bones in her body. Bedtime turns into fun and learning, but when Lily wakes up the next morning, she wonders if it was all a dream. Then she finds something that proves it wasn’t, and now she can’t wait for next Halloween.

Lily and Mr. Bones by Andrew Biel is more than just a Halloween tale. Written in rhyme and with lovely illustrations by Robin Dorn, it teaches young readers about the bones in the human body – how many there are, where they are, and even a couple of exercises to help you feel some of those bones. Kids will learn the name of each bone in a fun lesson perfect for a spooky bedtime read. It’s a combination of adventure and science written in simple language with illustrations that make it easy to follow. Everyone knows that school lessons can be boring, but with a book like this, kids will absolutely love learning, and they’ll all be hoping to meet their own Mr. Bones on Halloween. It is perfectly aimed at a younger audience, but anyone who reads this can learn from it. Let’s make books like this part of school lessons – kids will learn so much more.
