Our world entwines with other dimensions, seen by only a few. These few individuals, known as Conduits, are the strong ones who shut the barrier between these two worlds. Ellie is one of them. One day, walking to her inconspicuous job as a night cleaner at a local school, she gets sucked into a hell dimension she didn't create herself... another Conduit lighted her. Meeting the little boy Josh, whose monster almost broke him, and finding another one, an overwhelmed man called Sam, these three Conduits realize their strength is in numbers and working together. Waiting to survive the most important night of their lives, when the boundaries between the dimensions disappear, Ellie, Josh, and Sam experience important lessons; how to conquer their fears and endure the impending danger in the form of a mysterious Circle while trying to remain alive.

Lit is a vivid and exquisite voyage into the darkest dimensions of Hell that reveals the true power of human emotions and the importance of emotional and life control. Mark Anthony masterfully depicts the exchange between the two dimensions, offering scenes of utmost brutality and vivid carnage. The unsettling feeling that Lit imposes on the reader is wonderfully balanced by a well-measured writing pace and the detailed descriptions of strong main characters and their attached monsters. Lit will suck you into a world where all bets are off, and hope is the only bargaining chip you get to survive this hellish experience. The scenes are amazing, so vivid, and got me scared a few times...and I don't get scared that easily. With this first novel, hopefully the first out of many, Mark Anthony is truly on a path to becoming the next-generation master of suspense.

Who would have thought there was a fate worse than death? In Lit by Mark Anthony, three individuals must suffer in the presence of the Rakshana or Leviathans, creatures who seek to take from and use the people they’re attached to through their negative emotions. Left alone and feeling empty, Sam, Ellie, and Joshua must find a way to live through the hell brought onto them as conduits, or else someone else may find themselves worse off.

Lit by Mark Anthony is not what I expected and was everything I needed from a paranormal book. The concept of these beings attaching themselves to their conduits to feed on people immediately intrigued me. I’m not one to read many horrors or thrillers, but I was engrossed in this story and wanted to learn more about the Leviathans. Anthony’s ability to bring every scene to life with the dark tone made reading Lit much better. Like the Leviathans, the eerie feeling that lingers in the background permeates the story and seems to grow the further you get into the book. The three main characters, so very different in personality and how they handle their situations, were very well fleshed out, and I sympathized with each one. Joshua, in particular, tugged on my heartstrings, being so young and facing such a horrible reality. Lit is a masterpiece that I thoroughly enjoyed reading, and I would recommend trying this book.

Lit by Mark Anthony is a psychological horror story about two worlds that collide, where evil feeds off anger and fear. It follows three unrelated people who have visual hallucinations of grotesque monsters. Ellie Jameson is an orphaned seventeen-year-old girl. She is hunted by a macabre presence that follows her everywhere. Sam Morris is thirty-five and haunted by a nasty little creature that he calls his Dark Child. Sam still doesn’t know what this creature is, even though she's been in his life for so long. Joshua Fielding is eight and hunted by a huge black dog, an ugly creature that eats children like him. Ellie and Sam know what the creatures can do, what they want, and what they're looking forward to, but Joshua is about to discover this for the first time. Sam is determined to learn more about his monster and how to stop her.

Lit by Mark Anthony is an utterly engrossing and macabre story about some Leviathans and their Conduits that will keep you awake at night. It's filled with likable characters plagued by misfortune, loss, grief, and nasty creatures waiting for them to reach their breaking point. It's one of the most inventive horror stories I've read in years. I felt as if I was watching one of those terrifying and spellbinding horror movies that give me the type of twisted nightmare that I usually like to avoid. Despite that, I was unable to put down this book once I started it, and I am still recovering from it. It's so dark, creepy, and complex. I hope that Lit becomes a movie.

Lit by Mark Anthony propells the reader into the colliding worlds of orphans Ellie, Sam and Josh. Three characters who find each other because of their fascinating dark side, each burdened with their own simmering shadow nemesis. The story pulses the into their struggle to contain the dark side that is constantly waiting to burst through and hurt those they interact with. There is a rapid-fire progression of events which plays into a symphony of vulnerability, desperation, strength and humanity.
The horrifying and completely engrossing scenes of the hell these individuals are thrown into, and the way their lives are forced into each other, is absolutely mesmerising. I could not put this book down. Mark Anthony weaves the story together so skilfully, I was on the edge of my seat for the entire book. I haven't read anything that drew my focus and devotion like this for decades, it was exhilarating!!! I am left wanting more. Pure brilliance!
