Little Bat's First Halloween by Mara Mae tells an adventure story of Halloween night and Little Bat. Little Bat took off in the sky in excitement, where he had an encounter with different Halloween creatures like the flying witch, the spooky ghost, the glowing jack-o'-lanterns, the dancing skeleton, the fluffy werewolf, the black cat, the owl, the web-spinning spider, the playful vampire, and the trick-or-treaters. All the Halloween creatures were friendly, and they all engaged in lively activities like the Halloween party under the full moon.

Mara Mae did not make the Halloween creatures scary or frightening; instead, she brought them to life with a sense of playfulness and joy that children feel during the holidays. I particularly enjoyed the picture of the werewolf singing to the moon and the giggling wolf; it made me smile while reading those lines. Seeing the festivities and eye-catching images of the Halloween wonderland from the perspective of curious Little Bat, I can imagine how delighted kids will be as they follow Little Bat's wonder and excitement as he discovers all the friendly, costumed creatures around him. Little Bat's First Halloween is perfect for elementary school kids as well as preschool kids from 3 to 5. The main character, Little Bat, and the storytelling full of imagination and fantasy will grab the attention of this targeted group of children, plus their sense of wonder will be ignited. Parents and guardians will probably want to read this book together with their kids. It will make their holidays.
